Im looking for a book anyone know of it? Title unknown

Im after a book written by an australian woman and her daughter who both were diagnosed AS. I think Tony Attwood or some other aussie was involved in it as well. Its quite an old book If I recall its probably out of print by now but of all the aspie books ive read it was about the only one i found quite interesting to read due to the mothers viewpoint that she aquired in her day to day life of knowing aspergers and seeing her daughter with AS grow up etc

Anyone familiair with this at all? I think she was an aussie i forgot it was ages ago since i read it at a local library

hmm, since you say its an australian writer, then it cant be the one that I think it is. Great now I can't remember the name! LOL ummm.. I know I have it at home, and its by a woman with aspergers, I think its called LIVING with AS... I could be wrong, but she talks about how she used to like the smell of new school books as a kid, and how she would dig through the schools dumpster to get text books that were being thrown away, she talks about herself and her growing up, and then I believe around the end of the book, she becomes a mom, and talks about life with her and her daughter...

IF this sounds familiar let me know and I will make sure of the name title. She also talked about how she loved the smell of Freshly Printed school papers back then, because it was done differently, blue ink or something..

it may not be an aussie im not sure of that. I think its just because tony attwood came to mind with this book im not sure why? I think he may of diagnosed her daughter and then later her?

Im not sure thats her from what I remember she talked to random people outside shops one person in particular and started discussing with them about the italian language or something to do with languages

my memory is very selective of this book. I'd go satisfy my curiosity on what it is but its in a public library 140 miles away at the moment

The only book I can think of that sounds like the one you're talking about is "Pretending to be Normal" by Liane Holliday Willey...it's about how she discovers she has AS after her daughter is diagnosed. She talks about not being able to find her way around school and college due to her poor sense of direction. I think Tony Attwood wrote a foreword for the book.
If this isn't the one you're talking about it's still worth reading anyway..
