People think I'm just a spoiled brat full of ego. They don't like me because I don't live their so called "normal" life, playing video games and stuff, don't do homework, don't go outside and have no friends, but for me It's impossibe to do such things, it feels like a complete waste of time for me. People invent such things like aspergers and consider it as a disability, this is just another brainwash BS. I don't accept the fact that I'm worse than others. I've suffered true hell in my entire life and some "higher" beings think they can put me down? I rather continue to suffer than become a part of this farce. Oh and by the the way if there's people like me in this world that means that the government can't handle everyone on the planet.
/end rant

AS is not an invention; it is a real, documented condition.

While people do tend to like people with similar interests, they also tend to dislike people who seem anti-social, who tend to blame others for their problems, and who complain a lot. This does not make them "Higher Beings", but it does tend to enable their success in social networking, which is a key factor in their greater overall success.

You misunderstand why it's a disability. It's not because of the way you are. It's because they, the majority, will reject you for being the way you are. That's the disabling part, having to live in a world where you're constantly kept down or passed over for not playing the game the way they, the majority, play it naturally.

You're starting to see it now. As you get older, nothing really changes. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's true. Oh, it's not so blatant as it is in school, but these people will grow up to be adults and really won't change how they see you. Not to sound depressing, but this is reality.

So again, it's not how you are, but rather how they will treat you that makes this so disabling.

I don't care, the whole world can be sorry for my "disability", I'm not going to feel bad about it. Your "truth" doesn't interest me.

I am not surprised that people think that you're just "a spoiled brat full of ego".

I'm not saying that you are, just that I'm not surprised...

There is something called the social model of disability. It basically says that we are disabled by society. In the sense that we're not given the support we need, etc. It is more complicated than that though.

Again, you're not listening. It has nothing to do with the world or how the world feels about you. It's how crippling you'll find it to have to live in a world run by them.

Noting to do with pity. And it doesn't mean that the way you are is wrong. It means the way you are is so out-of-step with the rest of 'em that...well never mind, you'll find out.

After 50 some years of this, I came to a shocking realization. Not everything unfortunate in my life is because of THEM. I actually contributed a lot to my problems. I think, I am finally becoming emotionally mature. Well, until I had a melt-down a few weeks back..
Actually, this is a social disability. Not a conspiracy of THEM against US. That thinking will give you a life of misery for 100% certainty. It leads to paranoia & that leads to you making/finding enemies. I walked this path in my teen years. its a DEAD-END.
You must accept that you DO have responsibilities in this world, for one. No one wants to babysit grown men & women who do nothing but play video games & do nothing else.
If you do not accept you have difficulties you will NEVER fix them, you will never grow. And no one is going to want to take care of you. .

Face it:
ASDS are a disorder, they lead to social/emotional disability. This is not a lifestylel it is not a conspiracy. Nor is it REALLY a CHOICE. I did not choose this, but it effects me. I no longer try to make excuses for my behaviors. I recognize them & try to adjust or adapt. it is not impossible.
Beware the lie of "Aspie Pride". Its almost as bad as feeling ashamed of what you are. Which is another deadend.

How about my truth? If you can't do the "normal daily activities" at least don't be a dick about it.

3 things I've picked up on in this thread:

-The reason AS is a disability is because we live in a world made to function for neurotypical people.
-Although the neurotypicals (NTs) create this world, and some NTs have been awfully intolerant of us, NTs aren't necessarily to blame for our problem's because of AS.
-Thinking to highly of yourself is almost as bad as thinking of to lowly of yourself.

You should listen and listen well. These lessons are ones that I to am learning for myself. I have to stop feeling sorry for myself and pointing fingers. (Gotta start pointing my finger at the larger social construct rather then individual people). I'm still pretty young (20) but I know these are pretty good pieces of wisdom these people have given here.

In my opinion:
Self love (not ego)
leads to self acceptance
leads to love for others
leads to acceptance of others
leads to self management

Something like that.

Dizzee,
I am sorry that your life has been so difficult and continues to be. It seems to be unfair that others appear to live life easily and receive much of what they want. There are others like us who struggle daily to fit into a world that really wasn't made for us. In a just world the neurotypicals would have compassion and support us. That's assuming a just world. The world really doesn't work that way. However, you are allowed to rant about it.
Unfortunately, there aren't any spacecrafts available to take us to the planet Vulcan. We have to do the best we can here on Earth.
We aren't disabled. Perhaps some view us that way, but I think it's only because they see the world from their point of view, just like us. AS can be a lonely condition. It often is. It would be unusual for someone not to lash out at those he thinks are responsible for his loneliness and isolation.
Here is the truth. Being among people will not kill you. Your sensory issues, lack of social skills, meltdowns, and other issues known only to you also won't kill you. With your unique brain structure and different ability to perceive the world you can succeed in this world. Refuse to be disabled. It's hard, I know. You can't be like the NTs, but you can live in their world in your own way. I wish you the best.

"Accept responsibilities" heard it many times in my life. Even if I'm now in a terrible condition in order to make my life better I have to follow the rules which is designed completely for NT'S. How the hell do you want me to do that, I get no support from others, all I hear is "grow up", could you explain what does it mean? NT's are so full of themselves that they don't give a damn about anyone but themselves. Their insolence disgust me.
Is it my freaking fault that I was born disabled huh?

I can understand your frustration, but stereotyping all neurotypicals as contributors to it, isn't really a whole lot better then a neurotypical negatively stereotyping everyone with autism as a potential mass murderer for instance. I don't feel it is the neurotypicals in general that don't give a damn about anyone but themselves....I think that is more an attitude encouraged by society. And since neurotypicals typically do not struggle as much to function within the society as people with autism or other neurological differences/disorders whatever, its mostly neurotypicals keeping up with the status quo. That does not mean they all go along with it or agree with it though and likewise not everyone with autism feels there is a problem with this society and some strive to fit in with it.

But yeah I don't see how telling someone to grow up is supposed to help them with their frustration...its not childish to be frustrated about these kinds of things.
