Sounds like something the Buddha might have said... or something from the Bhagavad Gita.
But I think it's actually from the Bible; either from Ecclesiastes or the New Testament epistles.

ETA: Actually, rereading it and noticing the use of "you" and the general tone of the quotation, I'm going to say it sounds more like the Qur'an. But it could still be the Bible.
