I'm scared I'll act weird around Jewish people

Before this stupid special interest I used to act completely normal around Jewish people. Now when I see someone who is potentially Jewish I kind of stare at them. I know that's not polite so I try to avoid it. I'm also scared I'll start acting weird around my Jewish friend/ex boyfriend.

You mean you have a Jewish fetish? It sounds sort of like how I devote way too much time to staring at Asian girls (especially since the place I'm working at at the moment is only a few hundred meters from Chinatown).

There really is nothing different about us to anyone else.
We are just human beings.
I could maybe understand an interest in the culture or the religion, but not just in Jewish people per se.

Most of the time, you can't tell if a person's Jewish unless you ask him/her. Therefore, "whether you'll act weird in front of Jewish people" is mostly moot.

This is true, also. If you have seen one Jewish person, you have seen one Jewish person.

Haha, the name does tend to suggest that. Name just popped into my head over a decade ago and did not even know it's meaning. But by blood, yeah, Jewish and a mongrel to boot. :P

What I mean is acting weird around people who I think "look Jewish" or people who mentioned being Jewish.

Stare at them too much, treat them differently, act "too friendly" and talk too much about Jewish stuff.

I remember, that you talked about converting to judaism some time ago and was probably talked out of it again. If you are in some way fascinated, - go for it, learn about it.
You will guaranteed meet jewish people, or people with jewish ancestors, if you attend classes in hebrew, jewish history or other cultural subjects.
That ought to eliminate fear and weirdness and help you to come to a decision, if that´s what´s really bugging you.

I'd be more worried about acting weird in front of everybody. let alone Jews.
