a lot of the people i am around are so obsessed with the idea of perfection and fame and success, this total desire to be seen all the time and that they won't be able to find inner peace unless they are reassured they are liked. they also think of things like their hair, hygiene etc, things i never care about. I wrote a book and pushed for it to be published, and hustled and worked really hard because the pain that came from writing it and my hypergraphia and constantly having to take notes of little details of everyday life as if they were from a foreign planet. It's hard because my creative process is nearly unfound in this world, and because autism manifests individually for everyone - there's not a one size fits all handbook. We can relate to each other in ways NTs cant yet we are all SO different..

I couldn't really care less about those things.

I don't think that I ever wanted to be famous, but I always did want to have a few good friends (as long as I didn't have to be with them _all_ the time! )

I recall the actor Alan Alda once saying, "You don't have to be rich and famous to be happy. You only have to be rich."

I suppose success is in the eye of beholder. But, I would have no desire whatsoever for fame. I'm sure it would stress me out. But I wouldn't mind being a reclusive multi-millionaire.

I have no interest in anything that draws attention to me. I know that extroverts would say that people like me are insecure because of not wanting attention but I view people who crave attention, acceptance and validation as the ones who are insecure.

Fame is not important to me but success to some extent is, I would like to be successful enough to make usre my children get everything they need in life plus be able to do awesome things with them.

Well I like to shower every once in a while...actually my hair does irritate me when it hasn't been washed in a few days so then I figure that is a good time to shower, its certainly not a daily thing though and sometimes I put it off even when I think I should take one, I do like my hair and try to take decent care of it. I am certainly not obsessed with fame or success at least in the conventional sense I am not opposed to succeeding at things in general though if it helps one reach a content state in life. I do not particularly enjoy being disliked but then again I don't like conforming/trying to 'fit in' to things I am not really into and don't agree with just to be liked.

I'm world famous. It's just that my world is pretty small.

My definition of success has something to do with progress, not mainstream milestones (of having relationships, a high paying job, a house, marriage, children...). I prefer something that everyone CAN keep and cannot lose it. And remains that way in a long run. Like learning.
Money is easy to run out, can be stolen, it can be destroyed, it can be lost, it can expire! And lose it out of stress of handling it or by impulse. Barely regaining it if you had no idea how to regain it at all. However, at the society we live, we HAVE to, because we NEED to. (Unless you are prepared to live in the wild or integrate with some community with no concept of money) Tho, I admit being rich and not working gives free time to do something else and more privileges. But, for me, if I were to be rich, I won't brag or letting the world know. I won't buy luxuries either; I prefer to buy what's enough. I would be the one who is considered as 'Secretly rich'.
Fame can be vanished, stolen and replaced with someone else, and chances of never regaining it because --rumors, history, and so called 'expectations'. Especially if people just can't get over something that isn't supposed to be an issue... (Sometimes, it's why they say "Never meet your heroes.") The best side of fame is the consideration of one's credibility... I never dream of having 'power' because of fame; that would be very stressing to imagine. If ever, I would rather be a famous (ghostwriter like) or similarly like that.

As for hygiene... It's distracting. It's not like I go out often. Unless I really have to. It never helps when I'm female, because my mom will nag me for it. I lack of fashion sense and bad at keeping up with trends. I just prefer anything comfortable. And I swear if I have my own house, there won't be any more than 15 sets of clothing.

And yes, at most of my lifetime I feel like I'm in a different planet, longing to be... 'Somewhere' ... Even I'm welcomed and accepted by people around me, they wont understand me...
