Do you have people that you can confide in offline and do you think that they can give you better advice/relate better than friends you’ve made online?
For instance, if you’re dealing with a complex, personal problem that you need some feedback on, is it better for you to talk with someone who knows you in person or can you get better feedback from someone you’ve met on a forum?
Context, please:
Autistic?
NT?
Anyone?
What sort of "complex, personal" problem are we talking about?
If it is too personal, just whisper.
Autistic people relate better online, in my experience.
The question is:
What are you more comfortable with?
Bottom line:
If you know each other well and trust them in real life I would recommend in person.
Assuming you aren't planning a heist.
But why not both?
And why not a professional therapist if it is important enough?
You have me intrigued now.
