Do You Feel Like a Scapegoat?
This is in continuation to the blacksheep thread's notion that AS's have traits which are archetypical in their nature where sheep follow the flock - even if it's to their deaths - http://www.usatoday.com/news/offbeat/20 ... cide_x.htm or whether they are acting from a place of severe wounding, betrayal and abuse, being scapegoated for other people's insanity and illness, namely dysfunctional families, communities and socieities.
So - do you feel like you've taken on the problems of others and have now got to suffer continuously because of them?

why is that? I have in the past been blamed for things i have not done, and people have actually come clean after the fact. Its easy to blame someone different and i still dont understand why people have to be just so damn mean sometimes. I swear its like bullies single some of us out or even search for us sometimes. Perhaps one of us with a lot of money should buy an island off the coast of a fairly tropical, but not so stormy island. Call it Asperger's island. Start our own community there.
Hey, I had an idea like that in a way that it involves an island. I wanted to nuke the hell out of Singapore and make it Death Island, where I send all the people I dont like, because by then I will be ruling the world.

And I envisioned many a castration in my time. So I guess this means that the scapegoat wants to be freed from this *agreement* - no more pain, no more being shat on, no more having the weight of the world on our shoulders and no more bloody grounding our faces in the ground while others stand by mocking and filing their nails in boredom. The scapegoat in my life has been reborn as a battering ram. And that is - a very good beginning, methinks.

Well, I believe with complete faith that through natural selection the good will survive and the evil will perish. And so the whole world will be that island you envision - only it'll be named something like the New World......

Undoubtedly. Couldn't understand it until recently. Now I am less wounded by the role of scapegoat because I don't think others do it to me purposefully - its just their instinct. And I am also now less likely to take it on, or at least, not react in the same way when it happens.
Uh, I said all that?
But it all comes, to some degree, from instinct! THEFT, MURDER, PLAGERISM, etc... BTW Scapegoat is simply plagerism in reverse! Plagerism is when someone TAKES an idea and passes it off as their own, and usually no permission is given, they TAKE the credit. It is usually for something deemed good. Scapegoat is when GIVES credit for their own problem to another, and usually no permission is given. It is usually for something deemed bad.
I mean if you had NO concern for your fellow person/rights or justice, NO fear of any retaliation, and knew you couldn't be caught, wouldn't you just steal stuff, kill people, take credit for the good in the world, and blame anyone for foibles? I would. Keep in mind that I have NEVER done any of that, and wouldn't, because my ethics are such that I don't really consider it at all. But still there is like a divide there. I guess there has to be, because there has to be SOME kind of survival instinct.
SO, if you are going to forgive someone for making you a scapegoat, because of instinct, why not forgive them for murder or theft? HECK, they DID murder your reputation and the theft can be beyond measure. I, for example, have been trusted with billions of dollars, peoples lives/reputations. It is part of my career. If I was accused of some theft or big lie, my whole career could be hurt.
Being naive. Trusting too soon. Allowing the guard down or having the guard pulverized by an assailant never getting a chance to regroup afterwards because of vulnerability and deflecting 24/7. And once they're in - it becomes a mantra of self-destruction with guilt, shame and martyrdom at the helm.

Zukenkerl - where did you get that description of the scapegoat from - because it is way off base. The original scapegoat archetype has all to do with the tribe (society, family, community) placing all of their grievances, sins and misgivings UPON the goat, tying a scarlet cloth on it and sending it out to the wilderness (some have it being dashed down a cliff).
What happens to the goat in the wilderness if it survives being thrown off a cliff, predators, elements and simple starvation and thirst? It either survives by hoof and horn or perishes, that's what. And I'm here for that testimony and another thing here is the beneficience (grace and mercy) shown to it by its Creator, without which (escaping life-threatening instances by seemingly a miracle) it/we wouldn't have stood a chance.
OK - now I will tell you a little secret. And that is in the end - the scapegoat becomes a beautiful, radiant and powerful Unicorn. And that is the process which many of us are undergoing right now.

That is the ORIGINAL meaning, found in the old testament. I was talking about conventional understanding.

The original meaning is ~the~ meaning and FYI the others that came after were hoaxes and twisted truths. But oh well, we shall see in the end whose Truth rings true, won't we....

Ah, so I take it you don't believe in evolution then...?

Scapegoats ARE real animals! It refers to a goat that has been symbolically given the sins and misdeeds of a society and then exiled. It is spoken about in the old testament.
I'm unsure about unicorns though.
Being a victim and needing a hero in times of distress are very real indeed.

Unicorns are rare.
