Like frogs/crickets etc. I'm in Florida and it storms alot here so I hear it as I'm going to bed. I was curious if anyone else had this issue. Also strangely I can hear a huge train around midnight or later (and the train is clear across the highway) I guess it's the echoes LOL! (My sister who is on the side of the train doesn't hear it.) :-)

When I'm trying to go to sleep I do! I can only sleep when it is dead quiet. I hate the way birds are so noisy in the pre-dawn too - it wakes me up way too early.

I love the Children of the Night, and their voices are sweet music to my ears. It has been far to long ere I strolled through the forest at the full of the moon. :)

Now the forest is a subdivision and the Children's voices have been replaced by barking dogs, yowling cats, gunshots, and that gawdawful boom-boom crap that the urban hoods call "Hip-Hop" and "Rap." :x

I'd love to hear just one lone cricket calling out for a mate ... :(

We live on a busy street that tends to be noisy during the night time. When we have the window open we hear all the noise and it does keep up at night at times. This is one of the reasons we end up leaving the AC so we can close the window and not hear too much noise.

I find the sounds crickets, frogs and other nighttime critters to be wonderfully relaxing. It's a huge part of the camping experience. It's why I love the home I own.
I also love when I sleep on my boat. The sound of the bay, the smell and an occasional fish splashing in the dark...wonderful. If you ever get the chance , try it.

am both hate and like outdoor noises at night,it depends on whats going on,there are a lot of drunks around here as its an area with a lot of bars and pubs nearby-so there is the noise from them shouting and sometimes smashing things when its kick out time, there are the noise from the drunkard idiots who race their cars around here every night beeping their horns as they go along, there's the fire works [since august],there's the motocross racers who are racing and screeching their bikes, then there's those neighbours whos cars are so crap their alarms keep going off on their own.
when none of that is there,it's quite nice, just the distance traffic noise, calming.
sometimes there are fox noises, and bat noises from flying overhead, and there's also the tom cats out doing a choir in the distance.

In my quiet little town I find the noises soothing.

The crime rate in my place is very high, so every little noise is taken with a little dread. This obviously makes sleep difficult, however I have no problem with any sounds of nature (like the crickets or birds etc.)
