I agree this is terrible, and the girls deserved a longer/harsher punishment, but I can also see why the feminist group said they needed to get emotional therapy.

Our juvenile justice system can often fail to provide services that help transition young prisoners back into society, which means counseling and emotional therapy may not exist for many young prisoners, especially those tried as adults.

But that doesn't make the statement or the crime any less inhumane, and I would support longer sentences for the girls.

Calling them monsters is appropriate. I hope that they never become mothers, especially of a "Special Needs" child.
