I suppose the question you have to ask yourself is, "Is it butchery or improvement?"

In this case, it's a bit of both.

So do you recommend it? If so, I'll swallow my pride and try a copy.

Dragon Campion by E. E. Knight. It is one of the best books I have ever read and I'm not done. I'm reading 1984 next. Image

I just finished reading all of the Mediator books by Meg Cabot, and now I'm reading The Road To Wigan Pier by George Orwell.

E. E. Knight writes military sci-fi and dark fantasy. He names some of the characters in his series Vampire Earth and Age of Fire after people who chat on the vampire earth or age of fire forums a lot. A man named after the moderator for the age of fire books appeared as a minor character who was killed and eaten by a dragon. Dragon Champion is about a dragon hatchling named Auron who has his family killed by hunters. Auron, being a hatchling, has no wings, and to top it off, he is a grey dragon, a characteristic that is rare with dragons. Grey dragons can slightly change color but do not have hard protective scales and do not care for hoarding or eating gold and jems. Normal dragons hoard and eat gems because it keeps their scales healthy. They raid travellers of their gold and gems and eat humans and livestock, a trait that has led to their near extinction. Dragon Champion tells the tale of how Auron the hatchling grows up into AuRon the dragon(not a typo, adult male dragons have tonal emphasis on the first two syllables of their name) in a world filled with ruthless, racist humans, dwarf tradesman, nomads, and elf hunters. I'm not that into fantasy that much but it and the whole age of fire series is really good according to people on amazon. Only problem is that it isn't well known.

I am currently reading two books(don't ask).

In Memory Yet Green by Isaac Asimov. Awesome reading about my favorite author's early years.

The Naked Sun by Isaac Asimov, Second Novel in the Robot Novels/Series, which then also became part of the Extended Foundation Series.
