Does anyone else like reading web novels? It seems like lots of authors publish original fiction online for free. There are some really good ones out there IMO, but you have to wade through a lot of mediocre ones as well to find the good stuff. Many of the authors write longer serial stories and add a chapter every week or so.

Serial web novels that I follow regularly:

Worm. My current favorite. Really good if you like superhero fiction. This is one of the few that I think is as good as many published novels.

Castle Terribel. A fun story. Reminds me a little bit of Terry Pratchett at his most lighthearted.

Golgotha. A new story, seems intriguing so far.

Tales of MU. A mixture of fantasy and slice-of-life in a college setting. Slow paced, and the material is not for everyone, but I think the author is talented.

There are directories online with links to free web novels in all different genres. This seems like the best one: Web Fiction Guide.

Does anyone else read/write web novels? If so, what are your favorites?

We live in a ripe golden age, don't we? Just 5-10 years ago you didn't see any if these free sites, now they're popping up all over the place! I like Wattpad and eBooks International. I'm writing a short story now which I should have online in about a month or so.

Two nights ago I had a dream for a fantasy story. I woke up and wrote as much down as I can remember. There's a problem, though. I only want to concentrate on short stories, but the dream and characters involved would necessitate a full bore novel. I've never written a fantasy novel before. They're so long! I've seen some that were, like, 600 pages long! No way! It's a good story, so if I could bring it in at around 100 pages that should be okay.

BTW, thanks for suggesting Web Fiction Guide. I just took a look at it. Awesome site!
