And I'm curious as to what people would like to see different. The same old survivors-boxed-up-in-a-place-and-they-don't-want-the-zombies-to-get-in-but-the-zombies-get-in-at-the-end thing is quite outdated by now.

Where can we read your first zombie story?

Maybe tell it from the zombie point of view. What if it turns out, they're not just mindless, appetite driven automatons, but have some sort of thought process and even cultural cohesion. After all, there has to be a reason why zombies don't eat each other.

I love zombie movies when they are portrayed realistically. You got to sway away from all the stereotype scenes. Like the survivors got a pack of zombie on their heels, and trough astounding "luck" they survive unscaved. A real good story would give good background to the cast, and even perhaps focusing on certain characters that die later on. So you show a great and interesting background of a person, you want to know more but than as the first encounter comes many will die and this person happened to be in them.

That's what makes zombie movies scary, realistic stuff. Details are important too. Cast members have to be portrayed as humans that can die, not some superhero who survives 20 waves of zombies. Basically in my opinion if you make the story sound like something that actually could have happened then you'd have me hooked.

What I'd like to see different? Not sure. It's a very tried and tested formula, and quite frankly it works when done right.

Is there any place I can read a zombie story you have written? I may be able to say more after reading some previous works of yours.

It would be cool if something popular like facebook or dubstep turns everyone into zombies. It would work as a social commentary too.

Hmm interesting feedback from everyone. Would it be possible to just post one of my zombie short stories in this thread?

Well the thing is.. It's a bit graphic. Perhaps I'll just post a link. View at discretion...

Haha that reminds me of the "vegeterian zombie" in the Day of the Dead remake. Sigh what a horrible movie..

That was damn good! Are you familiar with Cemetery Dance magazine? They exclusively publish horror fiction, and this might be right up their alley.

Yes - I believe they pay something like five cents a word. There is a limit on story length, but your story is way under that limit. My dream is to write for those guys someday, as they are held prestige in the horror fiction field.

I'm also feeling really confident about writing some more zombie fiction. I had an idea I've been kind of considering for a while now. Do you guys think another chapter or even another few chapters to Hank and Ginger would be good? Or should I do a completely new story and not risk ruining an already good short story?
