*bump*

I am still noticing the same, with over 20 women in my “fb circle” (different than the social circle because it includes acquaintances).

It seems there are a lot of chronically singles in my generation; the very strange pattern that I noticed: Those who didn’t get engaged/married in their early/mid 20s are remaining chronically single.

I was at a party yesterday and I was one of several single women in the early to mid 30s. There were no single men our age there, just younger ones. One of whom had already hurt me so I was keeping him at arms length.

We're old enough to have been hurt several times over and have become wary.

Also, where are all the single men? This party was organised by a man as well. I had gone hoping I might meet someone because goodness knows I'm not meeting anyone at a girls party.

Single men are probably more likely to be less social and don’t like parties.

It's sad. There's a lot of lonely people out there who just aren't meeting each other.

Even when they try, they're not in the same place at the same time.

Most the women I’ve seen stay single are one with high standards no men meet except a few and most those men aren’t single or enjoy having lots of sex with as many women as they can

I’ve never been to a party nor ever invited to one. I don’t go to any social gathering or am I ever invited. I imagine other single men don’t get invited either as we lack friends

Honestly for me I don’t think it’d matter. I’m not dateable to women.

I think the 30 and above single men are probably at their homes feeling terrible about themselves. I noticed that as far as men go their job is who they are. Many 30 and 40 year old people get replaced by younger people.

I have been to grocery stores and even doctors offices, Many times most of the employees look younger than 30. People want instant gratification nowadays, as you get older you become slower at doing tasks. Fast pace, fast world.

Many men who have no job tend to feel terrible about themselves and think they are nothing because they contribute nothing to society, even during old ancient times it was the same way.

Due to technological advances in the world, less jobs have become available so there are many men who feel worthless. For guys their job IS their life, no work, no life. No one wants to bring a person like that to a party, and even if they did, the guy will still have no job so he will still feel terrible.

Now I'm not saying this is for all men but, for most(including myself) men don't feel good if they don't feel they are contributing to society. Like I said, with the fast pace world, the older you get the harder it's going to be to keep up.

I noticed throughout the years and reading about older times, the less jobs their were, men mood and behavior also got worse as well.

I don’t know about their standards- but I am sure that I am below their standards for most of them. I showed interest to some of those before but it was not reciprocated.

Usually things halt in FB messenger; I had normal conversations with them on Messenger for few times, just casual stuff (no flirting, no sexual talk or any of this sort, not even date suggestions)... and then suddenly she doesn’t reply to a followup question (it’s how i keep things in motion) even though it’s “seen”, a question which is usually a follow-up to the conversation earlier like “Hi, did your interview go well?” or “I hope you did well on the exam, was it hard?”. No reply.

Usually I send again a Hello after few days (which I always regret), it’s the same, seen but nothing, no reply, this is what I call a “FB Friend Zoning!!”. It is when a woman doesn’t remove your from her FB friend list, doesn’t block you and even sometimes likes some of your funny shared posted stuff, yet she doesn’t reply to you on messenger anymore; it’s like telling you “you can only be an FB acquaintance but nothing more than that.”
(Note that they are not complete strangers, they are people i met through different occasions.)

They didn’t even allow things to develop to at least a group outing or a casual meetup or re-meeting; in fact they didn’t even allow any real potential of real friendship, let alone a date. I am simply too ugly for them.

Ever decided to ignore guys’ messages on Messenger in the fashion I described above? In case you remember them.

I rarely reply to anybody on Facebook (messenger). It has to be something interesting to be worth a reply. Chatter like "hi" or "how are you?" simply won't warrant a reply. So, I think this pattern can be much more than you being out of their league. It could also be because you are not writing things worth a reply.

BTW, I ignore messages from good-looking girls in their 20s or 30s too. I don't like to chatter on Facebook.

Of the exes I know about, the college crush is married and has a family. The girl I met and had my first relationship with early in my 30s is still single though. So, a mixed result.

No. Men don't seem to use Facebook anymore. All the men I've met recently don't use it.

I get the occasional WhatsApp message and do reply.

Men don't tend to message me first. I had one guy recently ask for my phone number and would send the occasional invite out with friends, but never initiate IM conversations. If we had a conversation I was always one who initiated it.

I've only got one male friend who will initiate conversations which tend to be comments on my WhatsApp status updates.
