Bah. If she says she's not interested in dating right now, it's her nice way of saying she's not interested in you. At all. So forget about her.

I guess if you knew the full situation it would make more sense, so I understand why you think that way. But I'd rather not be that specific. She hasn't said "let's just be friends", I was picking up more of a "let me get used to you first" tone. Of course, this was all online so I'll see tommorow where we stand (in a real conversation).

Hmmm....

Well, a "Let me get used to you first" is a good sign, because it means that she is at least interested. I guess my advice would be to accept these terms of friendship, yet flirt like hell anyway. Play it "cool" and focus on having fun and enjoying each other's company. Act like she's attracted to you whether you know if she is or not, and tease her about it. Always maintain the illusion of control, even if you have no idea what's going on. And don't unveil the verisimilitude. Good luck.

Da*mit!! ! People are so confusing. I think she has a social facade, but I fear such a thing may be common for everybody. She seems happy in real life, but I always seem to pick up on something different online or when alone with her. If I could just see through her, I could figure out what she's really like. Argh! Confusion! Can't find a good emoticon for this emotion!! !

::frustrated angry confusion::

Oh man, I know how you feel.
When I look back on my college days, I now realize I was an such idiot.
I can now see that a girl was plainly flirting, or wanted me to make a move and I was just too nervous and unsure of the situation.
Like coming over to my room to help me pack and bringing a couple of beers. :roll: :oops: :cry:

Girls like it when a guy goes after what he wants.
But this doesn't mean you can just jump on them, that would be offensive. And it is no good to state your feelings matter of factly.
That takes all the fun out of it for them.
They want you to be absolutely confident, but just sort of gradually getting closer so that they have plenty of time to say no.

This game is all about the accumulation of subtle signals.
My aspie brain wants to know, yes or no with certainty.
But that is just not how it works.

In retrospect, I wish that I had gotten slapped in the face once.
Or at least made a move that I wasn't 100% sure of.
