Any Aspie guys feel they can bond with girls better?
I usually put up a guard with females so my friendliness isn't (ever) mistaken for interest. Other than that, I am probably too masculine and definitely not into subjects the typical female is into.
Although, I bonded with a female the other over the topic of Country music. If the subject is music, bonding is definite.
I can talk music all day.
Actually, I probably bond about the same with men and women.
I remember about a week ago a guy failed to bond with me over the topic of basketball:
Him: "Hey man, did you watch the NBA game blah blah blah"
Me: "No, I didn't. Wouldn't even know where to begin, something different is on every channel"
Him: "... Oh"
*End of conversation*
Me: (*laughing*)
If I look back at the percentage of people I consider "friends" as opposed to acquaintances, it is probably 75% women. Part of it is the competitiveness between males that an earlier poster mentioned, and which I have no interest or capacity to be part of. A larger part is that women have tended to be more willing to put the work into figuring me out (and being more accomodating of my needs).
