My parents want to Celebrate my 21st birthday but I don't. They were thinking of taking me to one of the Casinos where I live (Norwich, CT) to play the slots but I told them it's kind of a waste of money.

If I can go to any event I wanted, I would want to go to a Drag King show. But since by parents still don't know that I'm GenderQueer, if they did find out, it would cost problems. Besides, they are rarely if ever around my local area. Norwich Connecticut is a total DUMP!

Personally, I would rather skip my birthday because I don't like spending time with my parents, I'm not even close to them. Besides, I'm already going through a hard time hiding my gender / sexual choices from them and since they are homophobic and Transphobic, Sometimes I feel like I don't even want to talk to them.

What should I do? I kind of stop talking to them a little bit even we live in the same house hold unfortunatly.

Well, they do say 21 is the last birthday you look forward to, so I'd hate to see yours be lousy. But your parents do love you, so you kinda should throw them a bone. Just say, "yeah, gambling's not my thing, so maybe dinner or something?" Two hours at Olive garden buys you time and goodwill, which you'll likely have to cash in when the whole genderbender thing comes out.

As for that...honestly, you just have to move. A population under 500,000 or so just can't support a community of men in heels and cocktail dresses. Cliche as it is, all you can do is go to school and study so you can move to New York City and be with those who understand you.

Yeah, I remember my 21st birthday. People were threatening to get me drunk so I went down to a dry county in Pennsylvania to avoid that.
