So I'm planning on writing a novel and im looking for input. Backstory aside the plot would go like this

A guy who REALY likes videogames is swept up into a supernatural world conflict between 4 races of magical humans (elves dwarves, warruiors, and mages) and their allies, and demons who want to summon their dark god who will destroy the universe just by existing.

But leading the enemy faction is the main characters childhood best friend, who always enjoyed playing the bad guys in video games and was a bit sick in the head, but no one knew. He was given the power to absorb magic when he was attacked by a demon in the begining of the first book. now he is killing the 4 demon generals needed to summon the ultimate evil, so that he can use their power to summion it, kill it, and become a god. all because he likes to be bad.

The idea of the bad guys' leader being a kid who likes to play the evil side in video games has a lot of merit, and making him the protagonist's best friend adds some juicy tension. This concept has a lot of potential, so I say go for it!

my mom says I shouldnt revealmuch detail about backstory or plot since it opens the door to people stealing my ideas.


That said I will accept advice or specific questions

It will involve magic, 4 races of magical humans, dragons and other magical creatures, an intricate backstory, my main characters 4 best pals including a love interest (of course) and some other things of my own design


I'm quite proud of this book. I haven't written any of it yet, but the backstory and magic system and the 4 races are very well developed if i do say so myself (an obsessed literatureaholic) and whats more, I came up with the whole idea AFTER deciding that I was going to write a book and not before. Plus I came up with the whole thing in 2 days which even for me is impressive.

Then again, thats because this book literaly hijacked every single thought in my brain for those 2 days. I could barely even sleep I was so busy thinking about this

The one thing I need that I haven't figuired out the bad guys basic soldier. That is I don't have mooks, (or minions if you call them that)

Something like the orks in lord of the rings, that is, numerous, stupid to moderately intelligent, obedient, strong and (optionaly) Ugly

any ideas
