Is that an emotion in itself?

Yeah, I think so. That sort of desperation one feels from being barred from the rest of humanity.

Soph,

If you feel sad that is an emotion. So is being happy which I hope you can become.

I've been feeling just blank lately, and I've lost my interest in music. I'm almost sure that's caused by Effexor. The medicines have been actually working, because I don't feel depressed - but I would like to feel something else. Maybe my emotions are slowly coming back, because yesterday, when I was reading a book about cosmology and quantum theory, I felt slight enthusiasm.

Exactly what I've seen in so many people;
the spark of life, the pain and the happiness,
all disappear, along with the depression. They
turn into more little cogs in the machine.

There are days when I literally can´t care about anything. It´s actually worse than simple loneliness.

I think it is an emotion. It is a sense of longing. I've felt all kinds of emotions and I wish that I could feel the emotions of other people. That way I have a greater sense of empathy. Then, I could be a much better friend. I'm one of those people that care about others. If only I had the emotions to show it.

The doctor gave me Prozac, but I never touched it except to see what colour it was (green!? Bleurgh). I'd rather die than lose my mind. Good luck with that, regardless of the outcome. Medication concerns me.

Desire is an emotion. I don;t get emotions too strongly, probably because I keep my life so predictable - meaning that all responses can be planned (less anxiety that way).
