before i begin, id like to note that this isnt going to be one of those typical rants about how people shouldnt shoot the furry creatures in the woods, hunting is very important for animal population control, and as long as you eat the meat of the animal and not leave it to rot i think that hunting is perfectly acceptbable.. Hey everyone, my name is brad, and there has been a lot on my mind lately that i would like to share with you. well, for starters, im part cherokee and a member of an intertribal native american villiage here in pennsylvania, and the most important thing that the native people taaught me, was to respect and love mother earth. we call her mother earth, because she is the mother of every living thing in exhistence, she provides the air to breathe, and the water to drink, and without her we would never have come into existence.you know one thing that the native people taught me is that we are all one on this planet, the animals and the trees and the humans, we all have a purpose that we serve. and one thing that made me really mad in science was that my peers all said that they feel animals were only put on this earth to be food for humans, and they serve no other purpose, because the world pretty much reflects around humans. and this is completely wrong, yes animals are food for us, and we should eat them to survive, but animals play a crucial part in our environment, like for instance, bug bites, no one likes those right, well i guarantee you we would be bit a lot more if it werent for animals that eat insects. and animals also help to replant diffferent types of plants. another thing that i found disturbing was when in science we were talking about pollution and garbage, a kid was asked if its better to have a paper bag or a plastic fork in the earths soil, and he had no clue! No clue! how could you not, i mean, doesnt everyone atleast think to themselves once in their life that maybe were doing stuff to mother earth that isnt so great for her, like garbage dumps, , i know theres not much you can do about it, but youd think youd atleast put thought into it! and just yesturday my neighbor said he killed 30 raccoons because they were geting in his bird feeder, and he didnt even seem to care, yes their raccoons, maybe their a little annoying, but their still part of this environment and you should have more respect, like i said, no problem with hunting, but thats just animal massecre. the earth is so important to our lives yet it seems no one cares.
