There was a big inquiry about it in UK. People were going viral saying they hadn't felt the effects of their meds for a long time so they kept ordering higher doses ... at prices which of course are much higher too.
Freaking pharma.
In the UK, drugs are regulated by the MHRA which is supposed to have a quality surveillance system to sample test drugs on the market to ensure the quality and safety of drugs available via prescription.
They also have other powers, including being able to prosecute those selling counterfeit medicines (particularly on the internet).
I think the FDA in the US does something similar.
