It actually can happen, sometimes.

But you have a child? That's wonderful. :) I wish I did, but someday I might. :)

Could be genetic predisposition. I come from East Tennessee, and Scottish and English are pretty much the only two nationalities you'll find here (unless you have Cherokee mixed in, which some do but I don't). My ancestry is about 50% even on both sides. I've heard about the red hair / Aspie link, w...

I sort of found out the same way as you...University Affairs had to intervene because I was having such a hard time with my classes. As for recommended reading, anything by Liane Holliday Willey is good..."Pretending to be Normal", especially. :) She has her stuff on http://www.aspie.com. Welcome to...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v408/wildkitten24/whit45.png This picture was taken last summer. I love doing makeup in bright colors, although in the picture, the eyeshadow was not as bright as I would've liked it to be, because I applied it in a rush! Wow, beautiful!

Thanks, guys! And yes, velodog, I quit the Valium months ago. Didn't feel like being drugged up anymore. :) Unfortunately I didn't do so well in social situations after I quit it (I never did real well in them anyway, but without the Valium I have a hair-trigger temper), but my day to day interactio...

I was just sitting here thinking about my "other mom"... When I was in middle and high school, I had this one friend (my only friend, still, sometimes) named Sara who always stuck up for me and fought for me when I was being picked on. I'd go to her house after school most of the time since my own p...

Ditto on the dreams. :) Had almost the exact same one, minus the supermarket stuff. Also, ditto on the "feeling like a stalker" thing. Especially when I was younger, my emotions were hard to control and I was often perceived as involving myself in someone I liked almost to the creepy point. Yep, bee...

NT girls make HORRIBLE roomies for Aspie chicks, usually. I did my time with it in college, and it was an awful experience. My NT roomie did the same thing - sort of made me her little "gopher girl" because she knew how desperately I wanted to make friends. If I were you, I'd look for other housing ...

First point. Please don't think you're less of a person, or that God loves you less, because you're bisexual. Sometimes we fall in love with a person because of their soul and not their genitalia. That's a beautiful thing. :) Second point. My parents are hypocritical neo-Baptist yuppie head cases, s...

My dreams along the "happy marriage / kids" line have been shattered too. My first marriage ended in divorce, and my fiance doesn't seem overly thrilled about the prospect of kids (especially...God forbid...ASPIE kids - a prospect I'm actually kinda excited about!). I don't know, I guess I always th...

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile...I haven't been online for a long time because I water-damaged my smartphone (what I usually post on) and so I've been using a regular phone without web. :( I do have some good news, though...I got a new job! After four years of living hell dealing with an...

For me, it depends on how close I am to the person. My fiance and close friends don't bother me at all with eye contact or physical closeness (I enjoy hugs from them very much!) but eye contact and someone standing close to me makes me VERY uncomfortable if they are strangers. Especially men. I have...
